Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Manufacturing Expectation

  • Diagnosing issues on various trailers
  • Maintenance and repairs of trailers, preventative maintenance
  • Weld and body fabrication
  • Diagnose Electrical issues and repair
  • Repair hydraulic components including lines, etc.
  • Work within given timelines provided to customers
  • Test and adjust units to specifications
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed
  • Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements;
  • Use of a variety hand and pneumatic tools to disassemble and install truck bodies to truck chassis.
  • Brake testing equipment operation – brake service
  • Use of overhead cranes as required
  • Use portable hand tools and measuring equipment consistent with industry standards.
  • Use various welding and cutting equipment including mig, tig, plasma and oxy/acetylene.
  • The ability to weld steel and aluminum.
  • Ensure fit, finish and function to meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Perform inspection of your own work.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Major Requirements and Competencies:

  • Knowledgeable of all Trailer Safety requirements and certification
  • 310J or 310T Trailer mechanic certification required
  • English fluency – excellent customer service
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with the following systems: electrical systems, landing gear assemblies and trailer frames, hitching/coupling systems, trailer bodies, suspensions,
    tires, wheels, hubs/axles, air braking systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable and safety conscious with a teamwork attitude
  • Prior experience with hydraulic service or installation
  • Able to read drawings work instructions and blueprints.
  • Ability to be certified in forklifts and cranes operations.
